Sri Lanka won the World Cup 2020 last weekend, beating India with soooo many balls remaining. With class acts Dilshan, Sangakkara, Jayawardena and Malinga, they were always gonna be up there, despite being beaten by England earlier on in the tournament, who in turn managed to get beaten by Holland...(New look?) England play both SL and India this summer in Test matches with new old coach Peter Moores back at the helm. Englands women won the Ashes down under, but managed to lose to the Aussies in their 2020 final.
Friday is 2020 night at the Oval this season, with Surreys KP and Graham Smith looking to bash a few balls about, now that neither any longer play international cricket. HLCC's first game, v Richmond Royals all set for the first day of May. Rumour has it that one of our oppos have acquired a fast bowling England Ashes winning legend. Would be great to welcome GS to Spelthorne (coz lets face it, Superstars, need some more bowling....)
